Abstract
Error is part of to human nature and, in this context, error in medical practice is included. Paradoxically, as technology advances in the field of medicine, the relationship between doctor and patient has become more distant, which in turn has been a contributing factor to medical error. Much has been written about the causes of error in medicine, but not enough consideration has been given to the importance of the professional’s training, together with vocation and communication. These are fundamental conditions, not only in terms of the acquisition of knowledge, but also, and as important as this, to reach a training in values and humanism, which allows an approach to the other who demands help and, moves the doctor away from the judicialization, to be replaced by ethics in medicine.
