Abstract
Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis is a systemic autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation of small blood vessel walls, often involving the kidneys. Although the prognosis has improved, up to 40% of patients may develop end-stage chronic kidney disease (ESKD). Renal transplantation is the treatment of choice in these cases, as it is associated with reduced mortality. Although disease relapse post-transplant is rare, cases with various clinical manifestations and therapeutic approaches have been documented. We report the case of a patient with a late extrarenal relapse of ANCA, vasculitis, successfully treated with rituximab.
